different ways.

Putting the business name in quotes ensures that the search results

Many web sites claim they are
business directories. Many are databases that list only companies that
sign up. To get an independent list, use the search engines or use the
telephone directories such as White Pages and Yellow Pages.
Leading business search engines and business directories will list

such a service. Hoovers is another one.
Public Record
Searches - Corporations
Most states allow you to search their
corporate registration databases. Search for terms like
"Washington State Government" and go to the site that ends in .gov.
Then look for incorporations.
Credit Bureaus
Credit bureaus such as Equifax, Dun &
Bradstreet and Experian all have corporate directories where you can
buy corporate profiles and company info as well. These
files often include public record filings such as liens, tax liens and
bankruptcies.
